Claudia's struggle and her motivations are clouded in mystery in the novel, and it would be interesting to see what sort of personal conflicts she had to overcome. I would be especially interested in exploring her motivations for killing Lestat and why she chose Madeleine as a companion. I think Claudia represents in part our society's obsession with "purity" and "innocence." A woman loses a great deal of her value when she, well, becomes a woman. Although this is changing, we have very few stories about real women even though stories about grown men are found in abundance. I think Claudia's rebellion is certainly a kind of "pushing back" against these narrative restraints, so it will be interesting to see you explore that.Colleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05334034737315460983noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1835335388339028792.post-59589801373496332302010-11-26T19:41:45.926-08:002010-11-26T19:41:45.926-08:00I love this idea, and I think it'll be really ...I love this idea, and I think it'll be really interesting to see how you construct her. We see how she is in the novel, but do we really know her? I don't think we do, just Louis' vision of her.Lindsayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06529316419243964825noreply@blogger.com
